Spanish Immersion Cooking - Main Dish
Tuesdays 4:15-5:15pm
The main dish plays an important role in a meal, both nutritionally and emotionally. It provides the bulk of the protein, carbohydrates, and other nutrients we need to fuel our bodies, and it also sets the tone for the entire meal. In cooking class, the children will understand the process and use of masa. Masa is at the foundation of many Latin American cuisines. It takes on many different shapes and textures, allowing it to be used for the flat disks of tortillas, the thick cases of tamales, and many other foods. Discover the tools and techniques to making a fabulous Mexican main dish with Mr. Gio. Learn to make some of his favorite dishes including enchilada, empanadas, and many more! Recommended for children age 6-10.
